Luxury residential design is at its best when every element feels effortless. At Lunara, an award-winning waterfront residence in Sarasota, Florida, architecture, interiors, technology, and lighting work together to create a home that is both visually striking and deeply personal.

Designed by DSDG, with lighting design by JKM Lighting Design, Lunara embraces expansive living spaces, curated material selections, and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor environments. Every room was thoughtfully crafted to support modern luxury living while maintaining a sense of warmth, comfort, and ease.

Lighting plays a critical role in that experience. Rather than becoming a focal point, it quietly shapes the atmosphere of the home, accentuating architectural details, highlighting textures, and creating a natural rhythm that evolves throughout the day. From intimate evening gatherings to everyday living, the lighting adapts to support the way the homeowners experience each space.

To achieve this balance, JKM Lighting Design integrated a series of discreet architectural lighting solutions from Luminii throughout the residence. LLWD68 Warm Dim LED light engines were paired with KM Channel profiles to deliver seamless, low-glare illumination within custom millwork, cabinetry, shelving, and architectural details. As daylight fades, the Warm Dim technology transitions to richer, warmer color temperatures, creating a comfortable residential ambiance reminiscent of traditional incandescent sources.

Exterior and wet-location applications were illuminated using Kendo M Wet, extending the lighting design beyond the home’s interior while maintaining a cohesive visual language throughout the property. The durable, specification-grade solution provides reliable performance in Sarasota’s coastal environment while enhancing outdoor living areas and architectural features.

The result is a layered lighting approach that supports both the architecture and the lifestyle of its occupants. By carefully balancing performance, visual comfort, and architectural integration, the design team created a residence where light enhances every moment without ever competing for attention.
